Full Version: Transfering incoming calls to different computers

Hi Everyone,

I'm using Skype for Business. I bought some local skype numbers in a few different countries, since most of my business is international. Is there a way for the calls to come into one computer, and then I can have one of my employees answer the calls and transfer them to a different employee's computer? I'm trying to eliminate having normal physical phone lines, but I'm not sure if I'm able to transfer calls to different employees, like I would on a normal phone system.

Any suggestions you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You could use a program like AIVMS, but for high call volumes you may need to run it on more than one computer. AIVMS can route a call to any other Skype contact with a couple mouse clicks, or you can have its built in AI attendant route the call based on the customer phone touch tone selection. In this mode, the AI Attendant would be set to greet the caller with something similar to this:

Welcome to <company name>! Please select from the following options.

Press 1 for sales
Press 2 for technical support
Press 5 for customer service

Each number in the example above corresponds to a contact in the AIVMS systems Skype contact list. If the customer does not make a selection, they would be placed into the AIVMS hold music queue after a specified amount of time.
