Hello all,

What to do if you are trying to use Skype API, but get caught in unexpected problems or find a behaviour which seems to be a Skype bug? Or who should be informed if there's a feature you would need or what would simply be cool to have? Below you should find an answer to these questions.

DevZone

The first step is to check out our DevZone. Below is a list of the most important pages in DevZone to refer to:

Skype Public API - https://developer.skype.com/Docs/ApiDoc/FrontPage
Release Notes regarding API in new Skype releases - https://developer.skype.com/Docs/ApiDoc/Release_Notes
Tutorials - https://developer.skype.com/Tutorials
Downloads - https://developer.skype.com/Download
Skype4Com - https://developer.skype.com/Docs/Skype4COM
Extras program - https://developer.skype.com/Docs/Extras

Also make the best out of the Find page for searching in the whole DeZone.

FORUM

If DevZone doesn't give an answer to your problem or if you are simply having questions about how to use the API, then the best place for your question is this Forum. I assume you probably know how to post a new question here, but I want to remind you that it's always smart to search the old topics first to see if your question has already been answered to.

JIRA

If you have found a BUG or you want to make a FEATURE REQUEST, then the best place is Jira. First I suggest you to browse all public issues without having to log in to see if your problem or request has already been covered here.

Before logging into the issue tracking system for the first time, you'll have to create yourself an account with your Skype username, but this is only one time procedure as later you simply have to log in with your Skype username and password. You can submit a new issue by choosing 'CREATE NEW ISSUE'.

If you are unsure about something regarding Jira, please refer to the following, a bit longer introduction to Jira.

As you can see there's quite a few steps you can do to find answers and solutions to your problems, please make the best out of them smile.png
