I am running Suse 10.1 and have downloaded Skype but how can I get it to work with my SE-P1K Skype phone? The docs with the phone is really poor. Does anyone know how I can use this phone with Suse 10.1?

Thank you, Tim

Hi,
The manufacturer has a driver and user manual for the USB-P1K phone for Linux(Fedora Core 3) available at http://www.yealink.com/en/skypedown.asp.

Thank you so much for the information. I downloaded the zip file but have no idea how to install a zip file. Do you know where I can find info to install the program?

I was able to figure out the installation using the terminal. Using the following commands:
unzip install-SkypeMate.zip
chmod +x install-SkypeMate
./install-SkypeMate

However I get the following error message:

SkypeMate Version == v 1.1.0.1

i(I) == Install SkypeMate program.
q(Q) == Exit install SkypeMate program.
Please input your select:i
USB VOIP Phone error,please try again.
#

Can anyone give me any idea what I am doing wrong?

The vanilla or stock kernel has the yealink driver available. You will also want to compile in usb-audio support. The kernel has documentation in documentation/input/yealink.txt .

That's halfway there...

Oddly, I had the phone most of the way working and then I broke something in my configs. A few more days I should have this knocked out.
