I've also been patiently waiting.....is this going to happen, or should I find an alternative?

Just use the FC5 rpm. I'm using FC4 and when there was no FC4 rpm, I always used successfully the FC3 version...

I use the fc5 rpm on fc6 without any problems.

Also, if you are having troubles with Skype under FC6 you might want to check your logs.

A nearly fresh install of FC6 (upgraded from test) had a default SE Linux policy that was not allowing Skype to launch.

Me, for the house... I could care less about SE Linux policy management.... so I nixed it.

Now I just have to get my USB phone fully functional! (Half way there!)

I've installed Skype client on Fedora 6 and it works for one call and then when i try to make another call i can hear the person at the end but they can't hear me. I have to quit the skype client and then re-open it again.

I had the same problem on FC2 two years ago. I reported it on these forums back then. Nice to see things have moved along. sadsmile.png
