Hi,

I'm pretty new to Skype and absolutely fascinated of it, but there is one thing I miss regarding the global hotkey function... It is absolutely great to be able to accept a call via global hotkey, but it's not possible to call someone via global hotkey, why :?: I would appreciate a function to use hotkeys for speed-dialing users in my buddy list. It would make the hotkey function perfect IMHO

alredy exists:
you can assign speed-dial numbers to Your buddies on contactlist
numbers can be added from range 0-99.
right click on contact and choose "Assign speed-dial" from dropdown menu

no, you got me wrong....I know that the speed dialing thing exists - you go into Skype give your buddies numbers and you are able to just call them by this numer, fine! BUT I miss the function that I can use that together with global hotkeys, that means that I'm able to call someone with ALT + 1 (example - # 1 is the first buddy in my list...) without the need to maximize Skype - you know, simply press the hotkey to call someone... know what I mean??

You can do it from keyboard like: use global key to "focus skype" ->speed dial nr ->enter
example: your focus skype hot key is set Alt+F12 and speed dial nr to use is 3 You press: Alt+F12 3 enter
Imho fast way enough and no way to dial some contact by accidentally pushed button. Bringing skype contact list to screen is useful , if You dont remember correctly, what speeddial nr assigned to what contact.
too much hotkeys = too much to remember = too bad

I agree on that, but if you are in a multiplayer game the worst thing that can happen is Skype maximizing on screen! The game will be put in the background = bad.... useful in your eyes - a pain in my eyes..
I could work around it, but when I use the callto:// links for calling someone Skype maximizes as well..

It's just a an option in the preferences I want to decide if Skype maximizes when I call someone or simply not, you know.
