Just a thought - there seems to be a fair interest in the PALM community for VoIP. The Skype Mobile for Pocket PCs seems to open the door for going mobile. Why not open the door a little more and invite the PALM community in. It is a fairly large group and with several models with WI-FI the results should be pretty good. There already is competition since MobiVoIP has VoIP for PALM devices. I have tested it and it works fine. Hopefully Skype will see the way clear to offer this same capability.

I really want to get a Palm but i'm put off by the fact that I can't get skype or msn messenger for the platform so i'll probably end up getting a pocket PC.

You can also use MSN's moble webpage, to access your MSN account including hotmail and messanger thru your Internet enabled Palm or any other moblie device that can browse the web.

What is ridiculous is that I use Skype, ichat (audio and video), and gizmo all using my SPRINT EV-DO data connection hooked to a USB tether to my Mac Book Pro.

Obviously my internet connection is fast enough.

So why the hell do I have to use iSkoot, or EQO to make a phone call (not using my data connection) to some server, which then connects over the Skype network? Its ridiculous, and then I just get double billed ( i still use it for international calls).

Since I have the bandwidth, and the Treo's processor is powerful enough, why can't we just get a signal directly over the data line....

3g, ev-do, and edge 2.5 are all plenty fast for VoIP.

I want Skype desperately for my Palm! Skype, please add this capability!

Ditto. I don't plan to move to Windows CE in the near future and in fact have just bought a Treo 650. Would use Skype if it was available.

[size=9]Does anyone know if you can Skype-enable your Palm desktop so that you can just click on a number to call?
