I have for quite som time now been dreaming of iChat with PUSH-tech.. I remember a lot of others hoping for the same thing, but it now seems that everyone has settled for a stand-alone for OSX.. I hope that negotiations with Apple, if not already in progress, will start soon.. I am sorry to say that I am just not satisfied with the Skype-app.. It's always been a bit to windowish for my likings and after seeing the beta for Mac I haven't exactly changed my view on that.. The tech however is great and implementing it to iChat would create a monster-app!

Please.. I beg of you.. Consider it.. It would meen a great deal to Mac-users around the world and I'm sure it could only give you even more advantages on the whole IP-tele-/IM-/conferencing-field.. Mac-users are in my experience generally people with great buying-abilities and quite an interest in up-coming technology..

I haven't seen the app, I'm sure it's gonna kick ass

however, the guy does have a point - if you want to get a lot of people on board Skype quickly, get Apple to implement it in iChat. It'll filter down through all Apple users almost immediately.

On another note, Apple have some pretty wicked ideas about doing the video chat. Have you seen the demo of the new video codec they're using in Tiger? And you can do three person video conferencing!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the mac version of Skype, guys smile.png

Why should Apple do negotiations with Skype? They are wantening to get their own "Skype" buy building iChat with capatibilities to speak and video-conference to the other persons.

Skype OS X is going to be a great App - even if it's not integrated into iChat.

Ofcourse everyone would like a chat-application wich is able to speak over many transports like AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, Skype, IRC etc.

But at the moment I don't think it's necessary to implement Skype into any other app.

Perhaps it would be a nice thing if you developers would make a "SkypeKit" for other programmers to implement Skype-features into their applications. I'm thinking of applications like Adium wich actually support many chat-protocols.
