EDIT 20060302

This thread provides translation of Skype Windows (PC) version, only.

Yet another swedish translation: v1.0.0.29 - 20040829

Hi friends,
I don't seem to be able to find any updated swedish downloads since 0.97.06, so back from a long summer vacation I finally decided to provide my own.

Hopefully this will be of some use.

Some problems in current trans fixed by this:

- Updated to version 1.0.0.29
- Updated to reflect several changes of source strings (e.g. Friends -> Contacts)
- Provided swe translations of certain keywords (e.g. hotkey, Instant Messaging)
- Fixed inconsistent translations (e.g. epost / E-post; textkonversation / textmeddelande)
- Removed some bad looking shorthands (e.g. anv. / V-listan / Hem-tel)
- Fixed minor errors (e.g. plural / singular)
- Provides a more fluent swedish where separate strings sometimes work together (e.g. in Skype Option tabs)
- Fixed some spelling errors
- avoidance of excessive use of personal pronomina
- syntactic style (e.g. Verktysfältet -> Verktygsfält)

Having downloaded 1.0.0.94 I was happy to see the translation of this thread accepted and fully incorporated without changes. bigsmile.png

The new strings (1333-1474) has however been translated by someone unknown.

This latter translation needs som rework with regard to spelling, truncations, missing translations, terminology and consistency visavis the pre 1333 lines.

I really don't want (or dare) to fix these, since this should be done together with the other translator. Here I envy the other languages who most often have a dialogue running. As far as I can see there is no other thread for swedish language announcing the newly translated lines.

It would have been fun to have a part in those lines as well.

As I write I realise there is yet another version out (1.0.0.97), let's investigate the changes.

Please folks, step forward, let's cooperate

Please find attached revised swe translation of Skype 1.0.0.97 language file

line 23:
I have changed the name of the tab 'Samtalslista' (Call List) to 'Samtal'
I have found it convenient to be able to keep Skype footprint small and still have tabs in a single row. I deem translation change to be transparent to end user.

line 1361 and others:
Provided translation for 'voicemail': 'röstmeddelande', 'röstbrevlåda', 'telefonsvarare' depending on context. This may change once functionality is implemented and can be tested.

line 1420-21:
is lacking a label (Comment) - whatever that implies

line 1423:
button 'Avmarkera alla'(Deselect All) slightly truncated but is perfectly readable. Cannot find another translation and would prefer widening of button resource.

Changes in brief:

updated to reflect source changes
translated untranslated strings
removed truncations (where I've seen them)
provided translation for 'voicemail'
treating 'chat' as a swedish word (chatt)

I'll appreciate comments on all above.

changes between 1.0.0.97 and 1.0.0.106

english source:
1420-1421 now has proper labels (Comment)
1475-1560 new strings

swe translation:
1475-1560 new strings, untranslated

this download:
updated prev download to include translation of new strings

Only a few strings are testable: Proxy strings in File/Options/Connection.
The rest are for the most part a continuation of previous chat and voicemail additions

A whole bunch of new smileys proved to be somewhat eary to translate. Interviewing my twelve year old revealed 1479: "doh!" to be Homers dumb reaction to some nasty event, 1481: "it wasn't me!" to be some compelling MTV video by Shaggy, and 1485: "my lips are sealed" to be secretive. Thus translation became 1479: "doh!", 1481: "det var inte jag!", 1485: "hemlis". So be it.

There are changes in the source.

(edited in following 20050105, as it was included in later posting / anders)
english 1.0.0.106 vs 1.1.0.37b
changed lines: lot's
1561-1624: new lines

swedish 1.0.0.106 vs 1.1.0.37b

82-85,698,1086: main / View menu : removed the word "Visa" (View, show) from menu items

"Instant Messaging" replaced by "Chat" in source which made me change many strings. "Snabbmeddelande" (Chat message) is now used only where referring to individual messages within a "chatt" (Chat) - more consistently so than in source.

"Chatthistorik" (Chat History) instead of "lista över snabbmeddelanden"

several consistency fixes due to constraints (keep'em short) on some of the new strings

Swe translation of 2.0.0.90

Source change:
lines 1998-2007: removed
lines 2651-2659: added

Target:
lines 2651-2659 was translated and are included in the released 2.0.0.90

This file merges language file in released 2.0.0.90 with the previously posted so as to keep 2656-2660 (new line numbering: 2646-2650) translated. Also 4 minor cosmetics.

No big changes, just 4 fun:

swe 2.5.0.122 in build vs. Swedish_2.5.0.122_20060628_anders.lang

Skype lang editor introduced line breaks in main toolbar texts for smaller footprint - I made some corrections.

Some last minute source changes implemented

The word "Skypecast" translated into "Skype-sändning". Skype opted to keep the english word, but check if it would work

910,913,1224,2166,2177: trimmed the main toolbar text
2056,2061-2062,2068,2073-2074: source changes implemented
2078,2080,2082,2086,2092-2094,2098,2175: "Skypecast" translated

Note: when you change to a "custom translation" (this edited translation) some strings will revert back to english. Mainly some built-ins like country names, copyright texts etc.
