I it just me or is skype v3 looking worse than v2? why is the skype for mac v2 looking great, but skype for windows is just plain ugly? are there different design teams involved or something?

Mac team has a bit more liberty to try out new stuff since their userbase is a lot smaller. Those advances if proven worthwile will be added it windows and vice versa. Also there are platform limitations.

Mmm... i have been using Mac for over a year now, Skype for mac looks nice, so what, it does not work properly, common dropouts and it always lags behind Windows client. I have switched to windows exactly because it is not so eye candy, if you wan't eye candy applications stop whining and buy yourself a mac dude. I think v3 theme is great, it is transparent to use, plain and really really good looking, blends with windows enviroment easily.

I do have a mac, dude ... Have you seen skype for Mac 2Beta ?That's what I was talking about, It does not 'lag behind', it has all the same features as skype for windows v2.

BTW, does 2.0 for Mac have sms, plugins and live skypecast, just say yes or no... ?

I think both mac and pc versions are very good-looking. But yep, mac version is better.
