After installing Beta 2.6 we've the following problem:
Since skype has the video-option we had no real problems, other then sometimes some blurry video. A few weeks ago i have beta 2.6 installed. No real video-problem, we could see each-other. This weekend my friend installed the beta. I called him, he could not see me, there was not even a black screen, he just could not see I was sending video. I saw him however, and thought the video was much better.
We tried the other way around, He called, and I could not see him, however he could see me this time (and also thougt quality was improved). At the end I re-installed 2.5. I called, he couldn't see me. He called me, we both could see eachother. Imagequality was poorer however.
So it seems that when using beta 2.6 the incoming video is missing. The caller however sees the other, and has also the thumbnail-video from his own video. Also there is no error message.

This is similar to an issue that I'm experiencing with one other person. My client just installed 2.6.0.105 and I upgraded to the same. My video seems to work fine with other skype users, but with my new client there is no button for video on the contact page. Video sending appears to be working fine from my side, but nothing on the senders side.

Have switched so they have receive video from people on contact list selected, but still no video.

Any ideas?

I just loaded 2.6 on my home and road computers and have exactly the same problem. It worked fine (great) previously. Whoever initiates the call gets to see both video feeds. The reciever only sees his own thumbnail.

I used (I'm on 2.5.0.151 now) 2.6.0.97, 2.6.0.103, 2.6.0.105 and I didn't have video-no matter who is calling who. With the early versions of 2.6 (PREVIEW-s and BETA-s) I had video. I even have video with all the 2.5 versions (many people from US and Canada didn't have video with 2.5 versions)!

I've got the same problem.
No video.

Actually I installed 2.6.0.105 again today and I called one of my friends....
My video started to work!!!
That friend of mine doesn't have a webcam so I wasn't able to test the video receiving.
I changed my settings....
I ticked "When I'm in a call:Start my video automatically". Then when I called her she could see me (she's on 2.6.0.105 too).

I initially downloaded 2.5.0.151. to my PC. Windows XP with 3.06Ghz and 960 mbRAM and Service Pack 2.But no incoming video at all. However got the thumbnail of myself. Lots of advice - Thanks Raul and Peter. On advice, down loaded the latest BETA version. Still no received video but all contacts always received a solid clear and sharp picture of me, or the sender, from my PC! So no change whatsoever. Decided that as the beta version was in "testing mode" it would be wiser to use the original version, so I downloaded 250 again. Same problem exists. Everyone I videocall can see me perfectly, but I do not receive any video input at all. Never have done since day one. However - using MSN -perfect! By the way, everycheck has been done satisfactorily at both ends of the line. If anyone has any ideas that may encourage me to stay with SKYPE instead of using alternatives, I shall be delighted to hear them. PLEASE - SOMEONE GET ME UP AND RUNNING. The Wing Commander.

I have this problem too (although it didn't dawn on me it was because I downloaded 2.6) My contacts can see me and themselves in the thumbnail but I can't see them. I looked on the help and troubleshooting and there is no satisfactory answer. I have sent an email to support so will wait and see what happens. Maybe the administrator could find out for us and let us know. We all have the same problem but nobody has an answer as of yet!! Look forward to some positive replies as its very frustrating!

No incoming video. Using Beta .105.

Talked with my son today, who was using latest regular version. He received my video and could see his image as well as mine, so knew his was working, but I could only see mine.
