Hello all,

I'm running a debian/sarge distro.
I installed skype 1.3.0.53-1 through: apt-get install skype and this after updating the sources.list file with the repo: deb http://download.skype.com/linux/repos/debian/ stable non-free

Skype start up fine but fail to connect to other skype users. It just get stuck on CONNECTING and stays there.
It also has problem presenting my valid status from time to time.

Does anybody have a solution?

Do you know of other ways to install the software over a debian/sarge OS? Please be specific since I'm new to the Linux/debian world.

How about installing an older version of skype? Will it help? How do I do that?

Thx, dag
Ilpo
Sounds that your firewall denies Skype connections... Check that first.

hello Ilpo,

How do I do this? I'm not even sure I'm running a firewall.
