I'm having some problems with this version that I've had for several versions now. Please see the separate posts on these issues:

Need some way to organize contacts!
Dial Pad Problems
Problem With USB Headsets

Aside from those, I haven't had major problems with this release.

Orange Micro iBot firewire camera

WHAT I'VE DONE

Two way video call between Mac & PC
I've called 2 people in the same State (NY) who are on PCs and we've been able to video conference with each other. Sometimes there's a long lag in the sound which is unusual because we're only about 35 miles away.

One way video call between Mac & PC
I've called a third person in the same State and been able to have a one way video call with her (me w/ video and her without and on a PC.) With this person, though, I eventually start having audio problems whether or not I'm using the camera. It starts to sound like she's talking in a tin can. She says I also sound like that. We usually have to hang up and start the call again but even then the problem returns pretty quickly. I've been told that other people who skype call her experience something similar. This person is maybe 50 miles away.

Problem with video Long Distance
I have a friend in England who I cannot use video with at *all*. We can talk through the headsets, and there's a lag but that makes a bit more sense to me due to the distance. I tried the video twice with her and both times she said she saw a black screen. Each of us tried logging off and quitting and re-starting skype, and we each took turns initiating the call. It made no difference.

That's about it. Overall it's working pretty well for me. The video quality is pretty good and I haven't had any problems yet with freezing or crashing or anything like that. So overall, no HUGE problems. Still, it would be nice if the remaining issues were addressed.

Thanks for the video version! smile.png

Regarding your comments about distance ... I've connected in video conference with a PC user in China while in the UAE and in California ... no problems; good quality, particularly from the US. It may be the quality of your Internet connection in each instance?

Could be. They're the only person I've ever used skype's audio with in another country so I don't have anything to compare it to.
