odd, why would u want the older versions? Heck, it works much better than the older ones. Especially now you get ALSA support.

Odd. On my Slackware 10.2 system, 1.3 doesn't work at all. mmm.png

On hp nc6000 the sound (with ALSA) is hardly understood (both incoming and outgoing), network is clear and when i instantly switch into 1.2(?) it works smoothly again.

Sad but true.

I just used the link to dowload and install version 1.2.18-2 (removed 1.3 first). As long as you rename or delete hangup.wav, 1.2.18 works just fine. 1.3 freezes my computer (complete restart of OS required after freeze). I am using KUbuntu Dapper Drake.

Ok, I purchased a SkypeIn number today with a credit card. After entering in all required information regarding the credit card and accepting charges, a message flashes on my screen (just once for a split second, not enough time to read anything) and directs me to a page which says it may take up to 15 minutes for the process to be completed. It stated that it would send me a verification email to notify me of the success/failure of the said procedure. It had since been half an hour, no return email. I thought perhaps that maybe I had done something wrong, so I swallowed my ego and paid again. It has now been 2 hours, no email reply, no working number. I have checked my credit card. Both payments were taken, and now I understand that I have been given the shaft. I am not an angry or outspoken person. Times like these test the limits of one's patience. I understand that it is in beta-testing, and that things may not work so smoothly. However, I would like to think that someone would have a service/product partially useable before accepting payment for it. I paid twice for the same number. It let me choose the same phone number again. Without relenting to profanity, I request a calculated response on how you intend to win my business back, or anyone else's business whom I decide to steer away from you. Reply to superstupor@gmail.com, call me at my new imaginary SkypeIn phone number (608)544-1116, or message me on Skype: tim.fairbank. I have both payment verification codes.

Thank You, and Good Day.

Tim Fairbank

P.S. Anyone else who would like to share a similar story to someone who cares, feel free to contact me.

I get the feeling my user is handicapped to some extent: I still can not log in sadsmile.png. Either my user is not valid or my password does not work. Anyway after some seconds i get stuppid notice: 'Not logged in' which obviously i can see.

Can't you just place historic versions of Skype using ftp server????

It seems to require root privileges on my Slackware system. If I run 1.3.0.53 as a normal user, it sits there connecting forever.
