I'm sorry to ask this question here, but where else?
I've been wondering why Skype for Mac with video support has been so long to come since I saw the version for PC. I understand the market, Mac is only a small (but increasing) fraction. But why did we have to wait about a year to get it?
Were there technical issues? In this case which ones? They must have been pretty big to workaround. In this case, I'd like to know which part of Mac's architecture or software caused such a delay.
Was there a (understandable but unforgivable) lack of support from Apple development? A lack of programmer?
Were there commercial pressure from Apple (since Skype somehow competes with Apple's iChat)? (I think iChat will ofer even more in Apple's next version of the OS anyway.)
Or was it just Skype's politics to focus on big (read PC) market first
We will probably never know everything about this story, but I feel really sorry for the Mac people.
(it must be the price to pay if you have a better computer ;-) )
