Full Version: Phone tree problem fix anywhere in sight?

Mentioned in previous post. This seems like such a normal, simple fix. Windows has it. I NEED to press the numbers for any company's phone tree. I bought the Skype telephone number and I want to DROP my cell phone but CAN'T because I can't dial a single company that has a phone tree to navigate through. Please, can some engineer PLEASE tell me of a possible fix date. I love Skype but am starting to lose faith if something so simple as pressing a number seems impossble.

And yes, I have tried (as well as my other Mac friends), pressing the numbers all the time, holding the numbers down for a long time, etc etc. Works 5 - 10% of the time.

I have tried the following versions:

1.4.0.49
1.5.0.60 (BETA)
1.5.0.61 (BETA)
1.5.0.77 (BETA)
2.0.0.2 (BETA)

Thanks Skype. And thank you for all the hard work you do. I'm just frustrated.

As a hack, try either a) holding a touch-tone phone near your microphone and pressing the correct keys (the phone needs to be plugged in, but doesn't need the line to have service), or b) even more awkwardly, you could go to

http://www.thisisarecording.com/sounds14.shtml

and download the touch-tone mp3s there (save them as an album in iTunes and you can play them quickly as needed). Since it's all just a matter of sound, any reproduction of the tones of the keys should work. I know this doesn't get Skype off the hook for implementing the simple solution, but it might work for you in the meantime.

Ha! Yes that would be extremely ackward and weird, however, I did learn all about multi-tone frequencies used in modern-day phones. So cool site anyway. Thanks!

Being that a new version has come out, I have now tried the following to no avail.

1.4.0.49 Final
1.5.0.60 (BETA)
1.5.0.61 (BETA)
1.5.0.77 (BETA)
1.5.0.79 Final
2.0.0.2 (BETA)
