Full Version: freeze when recieving text message or phone call

Hello,

I have kununtu 6.06 and when I receive a text message, all my screen is freezed for 1 mn !
For phone call it is the same

And now The sound is not nice at all cuted I can hear but I need concentration.
Am I the only one with such problem.

I have ubuntu 6.06, gnome 2.14.3, skype 1.3.0.37_API

Any idea?

try new beta .50, anyway ubuntu 6.06 has an old version of alsa and kernel, the problem is around there...

Same problem. Using the latest beta (1.3.0.50). Whenever someone calls me, my computer locks up for ~1 min, and then I get a "<number> has left a voice mail" popup.

Very.

Annoying.

Ubuntu 6.06 here too. I'm not going to upgrade to a beta Edgy unless someone confirms that that actually fixes the problem. Anyone know?

apparently, this is more an Ubuntu issue and less of a Skype issue. Just update your alsa-lib and alsa-oss, and all those ALSA libraries.
