Full Version: Skype WORKING in FC-2
Skype Community > English > Skype for Linux

The system setup here is as follows:

AMD-K6 400 Mhz, 128 MB ram, Createive/Ensoniq PCI Sound card, ATI Mach 64 Video,
(only does 800x600), dial-up ISA Zoom modem, hauppauge wintv go, etc, etc....

Skype runs aok initially except for this rediculous need to OVER-SIZE
its panels which means I have to MANUALLY re-size them to see everything

I finally managed to place a very nice call to someone who took time to
actually test Skype out for a couple minutes....
Their audio was simply wonderful: fluid streaming, no breakups whatsoever!
they could also hear me In-real-time !!

They also told me about 'echo123'

For being Dial-up, I was quite impressed, and so was the other person
who is running a T1 line...

So this definately does work well... except it is a major PAIN to have
to RESIZE the panels, and my version right now SegFaults getting
additional info in Search,

ALSO you MUST address this foolishness that profiles appear
BEHIND the search panel INSTEAD of where they can be clearly
seen. Why on earth is that Search panel given TOP-level priority
in the first place!
WHY can't the Search panel be Minimized !!

These are valid questions !

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed, the window z-order is kind of wacky and will improve (it has problems also in other places than Search window).
