Hi smile.png

i just try to install the last preview 2.6.0.53.

During the installation i get this alert (see file attachments)

Any explanation or suggestion?

It's maybe a mistake or a missunderstood of my antivirus program, but if some users gets alerts with the 2.6 they may won't install the software...

ps: i use the 2.6.0.44, nothing special to report expect a good voice quality and indirectly a better video quality.

Hi zouma,

please send this file encrypted to heuristik2@avira.com and don't forget to named the password in your email. A short description is helpful too.

Edit: Hmm... the ubb code doesn't work? Where can I check this?

Works fine - try removing the extra space.

Hi smile.png

Done, the different files has been send to Avira.

Now wait and see... i'll make test after each update of Antivir or Skype preview.

Cause it looks that i'm alone with the problem (maybe alone Antivir user on this board tongueout.png) and cause after ignoring the alert i found nothing suspect on the my computer and internet connection... Maybe you can change the title of the topic into a title less upsetting...

This is a common problem of AntiVir. The heuristic mechanism of this virus scanner sucks! Set heuristic to "minimum" and it will work or use another free antivirus prg like AVG Free

I did use AntiVir and I know the problems this prg has! sadsmile.png

Every Heuristic detection could be a false positve. That's for all Antivirus programs - also for AVG.

Have a look at the definition: --> http://antivirus.about.com/library/glossary/bldef-heur.htm <--

Excerpt:
QUOTE
Unfortunately, heuristics are not very successful in catching newly released threats - mainly due to consumer demand for an unobtrusive scanner. To minimize the risks of false positives, some vendors have cut back on the level of heuristics employed, or given users configurable options to lessen or increase heuristics as desired.

No, AntiVir is known for more heuristic detction false positives than most other antivir prgs. Use different anitvir prgs for a while and compare wink.png

Of course it can happen with all, but with AnitVir it's happening A LOT

But it's the endless discussion again because everybody thinks he knows it better bigsmile.png
Anyway, I have used AntiVir, AVG, Norton, Avast and all for years and had the chance to compare smile.png

Of course the Skype Team has nothing better to do than putting a virus into Skype bigsmile.png
Oh, well, that's the way it is, people will always say "no you are wrong, it has a virus in there" just because some silly antivir (which even has issues while installing, etc) says it has and everybody is posting a very important thread in it asking "VIRUS?" in the topic description.

That AntiVir has a bad heuristic if you put it on "middle" or "strong" is a widely known fact and there can be as much IT experts come here and confirm this, people will still post "VIRUS??" posts _before_ they try it with online virus scanners whether it's really a virus, whatever in there or emaul the virus detection crew of that antivirus in question.

It can be seen all over the internet and it's pretty sad.
