How about adding the fact that Skype is blocked from autostart on Windows Vista RC1 (or Pre-RC1) because this new version somehow requires administrative priviliges?

Bug report: https://developer.skype.com/jira/browse/SCW-7
Kendp
I've been running beta 2.6.0.44 since August 15 without any problems. Also, it solved the video problem I experienced with the first versions of 2.5.

Today I downloaded and installed beta 2.6.0.67. Here is what happened:

1. First time I installed version .67 it did not seem to completely install I didn't get the wooshing sound I usually hear and the words like "tools" were greyed out. And my computer was frozen.

2. I rebooted, uininstalled .67, ran a registry cleaner, then did a new install. This time it seemed to fully install, but couldn't connect to the internet. Finally, it froze the computer.

3. Reebooted, uninstalled .67, ran a registry cleaner, then installed .67 again. Fully installed, but couldn't connect to internet. I waited as long as I dared, then "Quit" Skype.

4. Uninstalled Skype, ran a registry cleaner, then reinstalled .44. It fully installed and almost immediately connected to the internet.

The one thing I didn't try was to download a fresh copy of .67. If it is thought that will make a difference, I will be glad to try it. However, otherwise I will stay with .44 for the time being.

Kendp can you help us solve this problem?

If yes then please do following:
* Enable logging of Skype - https://developer.skype.com/Support/LogFile
* Install 2.6.0.67
* Hang/froze your computer with Skype
* Create a issue report with all info and log files - https://developer.skype.com/jira/browse/

If you do so then we can hopefully solve this problem.

Yes, will do this tomorrow morning. But not clear about creating an issue report when computer is frozen. Is this possible?

Yes, since the report is written in realtime

You may submit a bug after restart also if it is requiered.

The steps I wrote were to you to know in which order to do things.
Kendp
I tried to download the logfile in order to enable logging, but nothing appeared in the folder that I download to. Tried with two different browsers, Firefox and Opera.

What do you advise?
Raul Liive
You should be able to download from there whitout any restrictions.

You may try also logging in with your skype account.
Kendp
Found it after writing that. Did a search and located it.

Uninstalled .44 and ran a registry cleaner. Clicked "log on" and said "ok" to questions about recording to registry.

Installed .67 and opened it. It tried to connect, then Skype surprised me by having me enter my password. Didn't do that the other day. I entered password and and again tried to connect to internet. After a period of time I got a notice saying couldn't connect and that I should check my connection. Asked me to enter password. I confirmed that I had a connection, entered password, and it again searched. After a time, this was repeated. Next time I was asked for password, I tried to click on log off but found that computer was hung up. Had to reboot to get computer working. Went to page to initiate a report but couldn't find anyplace to do so. Seemed to be just a compilation of issues being worked on that could be browsed.

Would you like me to try again, starting with a fresh installation of .67. I can't remember if I stopped Skype before clicking on log off or if I did it while it was still searching. If it would be helpful, I will try again, this time clicking on log off while search in progress in the hope that rest of the computer is not hung up.

Big difference between today and other day was that today I was asked at several points to log in. This did not happen previously with .67
Kendp
Ok, I finally figured out how to add a report. Problem was when working with Firefox I wasn't being told that I had to create an account with Jira and log in. When I switched to IE, I got the information and have created an account.

Will uninstall and reinstall .67 after logging in and will try to log off while Skype is making one of its fruitless efforts to connect to the internet.

Bug reported submitted with attachments. Because there were 6 attachments and space for attachments limited to 3, I included 3 with original report and 3 with supplement.

New beta .74 solved my problem. Thanks.

Poor sound quality:

I downloaded 2.6 to fix a problem with video in 2.5.
The video works now, but the sound quality is much worse.
I get noise and it is as if my audio is being chopped (is that what you call a "robotic voice"?).

My system is:
Intell Celeron 1GHz with 256MB Ram
VIA AC'97 Audio controller on motherboard.

The sound is fine with other applications using the same headset.
It was very good with all previous versions of Skype.

Hope this helps,
John Middleton.
Raul Liive
JMMM thank you for your report.

Can you please help us to fix this issue?

Please do following steps:
* Close Skype
* Enable logging on Skype - https://developer.skype.com/Support/LogFile
* Make a Skype call with bad quality as you described.
* Close Skype
* Disable logging
* Send both log files to me.

If you do so then we can solve your issue and make Skype even better for you and for others as well.

After disconnecting from a skypecast, skype no longer plays any sounds (both calls or regular sounds such as rings or notifications)

Restarting skype does not fix it, neither does reinstalling it. (reguarding skype beta 2.6)
However, when reinstalling an older version, sounds work perfectly fine. (reguarding skype 2.5)

Can't install on my pc as I get IPersistFile::Save failed on installation. Anyone know a workround for this?
Raul Liive
Sahmraw what OS are you running?

Is it updated?

I'm having a CONFERENCING issue ... three of us running 2.6.0.81

When a conference is created (CTRL-click the other two & create a conference, only the host and 3rd person are on the conference. The middle person is placed on Hold; if one holds, the other resumes; there's no way for all 3 to simultaneously be in conference.

Is this a known bug?

Windows XP sp2 w/latest Microsoft Update patches on all systems. Two systems have the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks (1st & 3rd), but the other person has no videocam (I believe)..
