One issue I noticed: People appear still online even if they went offline. I have to call them so the status changes to offline.

This already happened in previous versions (2.5) of Skype. Very annoying indeed!

This didn't happen in previous versions for me!
I am using Skype since first release smile.png and this is the first time I have such a problem

Another thing that really gets me mad: when you ever forwarded your Skype calls to a landline or mobile phone, and afterwards disabled it, it still shows the "orange forwarded icon" when you are offline!

Strange, i don't see anybody complaining about this, and i noticed this problem since the very beginning!

I also wrote this in the support area of this forum (the status of me and my wife shows orange forwarded when offline, forwarding was deleted long ago) and got the answer this is a known issue, you can't do anything to solve it.

And yes, I also had some problems with contacts showing online or offline wrongly with 2.6 in the beginning, didn't see this with 2.5 or before. After restart of the computer it didn't happen again yet.

Support doesn't care much really.
Well, so I have posted it (i.e. my issue) in the bug tracking system here:

Now is it really needed to kind of spam this forum with thousands of your equal posts?

Yes it is my friend. It’s kinda weird that the people who have this issue don't vote for it to be fixed... Before it had 6 votes, know it have 16, so maybe it will tell the programmers to prioritize this issue a little faster, cause it’s freaking driving people nuts!!! bigsmile.png

Last word of discussion.... Surfs up, gotta go yes.png

One issue I noticed: People appear still online even if they went offline. I have to call them so the status changes to offline.

We have 3 Skypers in our house on 3 PCs. We use Skype a lot as an intercom.

Not only do I sometimes see the "False Online" status indication from external Skypers who have gone offline but (worse) I also see one or the other of the 2 Skypers in the house in a false "Offline" status when I know they are online - and can call them.

[and No - they are not setting their status manually]

First: Good News! They seem to have finally fixed the wrong forwarding status issue. My wife and me are no longer seeing each other wrongly forwarded (orange icon) when offline. Now it's really showing me offline and for my wife the voicemail (white tape recorder icon) as she has SkypeIn.

Second: @JimMNy: I have 2 PCs behind a linux router here and did some tests. If I don't do any port forwarding (neither manually, nor vie UPNP or something else) so both PCs use closed ports everything is OK. We both see the proper status of each other and our friends are seeing our proper status too. As soon as I forward a port for one or both of the PCs and assign it to Skype the other PC always sees this PC as offline until called.

I assume first PC gets told the IP and port of the second but cannot connect directly as it's the external IP of my own router. I cannot connect to my own external IP to get it forwarded back internally to the second PC. When both PCs were forwarded (means both same IP but different ports) a friend told me that he could only see one of us online, even when both were online.

The solution would be that Skype checks if other's external IP is the same as it's own and then either call him internally if possible or update the status as it works for not forwarded clients and not by connecting directly.

In the meantime I disabled port forwarding as everything works fine, no problems with SkypeIn and SkypeOut.
