Ok, most people should know that when using alsa on 1.3.0.30, you get choppy sound after leaving skype unused for a while, there are a few options

Restart ALSA

# /etc/rc.d/alsasound restart

(that is how it is done on suse anyway!)

Most times though, this is not necessary

Restart skype

Right click on the green skype logo in the task bar, then click "close" (if you didn't know :wink: )

Flood the program with sounds

CODE

tools --> options... --> sounds

play through the sounds a few times, repeatedly press the play icon next to the sounds until they play smoothly!

Hopefully this has helped anyone who is having the same problems
