Using the static/dynamic binary package, I can log in skype, but I can't call my friends using both of the two versions.
Could you please tell me how to fix this problem? Thanks a lot!

check your audio configuration. note that skype 1.2 (the latest official release) only supports OSS, while skype 1.3 beta also supports ALSA.
