I have the following config:
Windows 2003 Server
Skype 2.5
D-Link DPH-50U
NO Soundcard whatsoever
I've installed the latest (still 1.0) driver of my dlink, and skype 2.5.
De dlink device is working properly, I get the virtual audio device in my device manager, and the dlink utility is telling me that skype running and the adapter connected. But when I start skype, it is telling me that no audio devices are found ! When I go to the settings of skype, I can't select my dlink adapter. I've tested it before on my XP machine (that does have a sound card) and there it worked flawless. Since I moved it to my 2003 machine it stopped functioning.
It seems that skype really needs a hardware soundcard of some kind. But still I should be able to select the dlinks virtual audio device ???
Some help please ....

Are you current with all Windows updates?

Yes, all machines are automatically updated.
(Perhaps I missed one, but that seems impossible to me)

Go to the control panel,
-> then to "Sounds and Audio Devices",
-> click on "Enable audio in Windows"
-> reboot...
That worked out for me at least
Good luck

Hi Hope you can help me about my dlink dph-50u set up. I tried to set it up the first time using the quick install guide and it seems working but suddenly it didn't work fine. I don't remember what I did. Anyway, This is the problem. Everytime I reinstall the dph-50u, it will install the ZOOM virtual audio device. and what happen is that I can see the dlink icon working ok with my skype but I can hear no audio nor My audio couldn't be heard on the phone. I can use the phone to dial and answer but no audio and sound after hanging up and dialing up. I can still use my PC mic and speaker. I was wondering why it will install the zoom but not the dlink virtual audio device. I think this problem is related to your answer to xterminator. unfortunately, I cannot find the setting "enable audio device" in the control panel under the " sound and audio device". by the way, I"m using an Windows XP SP2 home edition. I hope you can help me with this. Thank you very much.
