Is it possible? When I try to make a call from my Mandrake v10 Linux to Windows XP, we both (me and the one to whom I speak) hear some very loud noise and no normal language.

Can you give some more information:
Do calls to someone other work fine? Try calling echo123 from both sides.
What versions of Skype you are running on both sides?
Do you use firewall's? If yes then which one.
