Hi, everybody

Currently sat in Baghdad!

Brand new to Skype, brand new computer, it's a Toshiba Satelite with a realtek AC97 sound card. I downloaded Skype from the net and it shows up as version 2.5.0.126 I have spent 2 days reading the forums on Linux and version this and version that, and tried just about all the suggestions with the sound recorder etc - which will still not work! So when I try to go to the 123 system and see if it works - it dont! I want to kill this computer at the moment!

Other than "Kill the Computer" any suggestions would be most welcome. I apologise if I sound like a complete computer illiterate but it seems beyond me - They let me fly some pretty sophisticated machines so I do not think its beyond me to get this to work providing all you experts keep it really simple.

Thats it

Not clear to me.
Are you seeking help for Linux version or for win32 version?
As we all know, there is no 2.5 Skype for Linux. Not even 2.0. Neither 1.4. Well, we even don't know when we get 1.3
