Full Version: application connecting to Skype
Skype Community > English > Linux
grs1_
Hello everybody,

Is there any way (e.g. some configuration file) to avoid the message window
"A program X is trying to connect to Skype. Do you want to allow it ?"
If not, is there a way to make this message be answered automatically ?
p.s. I work in Linux.

Thanks.

This is more a generic API question, but the answer is no, you cannot avoid this message and you cannot auto-answer this message. This is designed into Skype Client in order to give the end user some control over which external applications can use Skype API.

Wouldn't it be quite good if the client could identify itself (with a random UUID or something else that is not likely to be guessed) in a way that could make it possible for Skype to give the option "Always accept connections from this client".

AFAIK you have the "always allow" choice in the dialog. but as soon as the executable is modified, you'll have a new dialog popping up.

Great, didn't know that.
