Hi there,

Is there any way to mute all sound coming from the remote user? This may sound like a rather silly request without context, so allow me to explain why I'd need this at times:

Currently, much of my call time spent on Skype is used to make people listen to music (mostly sampling works from a close relative), and the only way of doing this to begin with is to set my card's recording device to "Wave" or "What You Hear". The problem is, those both also send the incoming sound of the remote user, effectively causing a feedback loop which can get out of hand quite easily. Luckily, the guy I'm doing this the most with has a headset, which prevents the sound from bouncing back and forth more than one time. Still, it _does_ disturb him that he hears himself in echo at all times, due to the setup.

I hope I've made the problem pretty clear. Feel free to ask for more information if needed ;-).

Cheers,
//Markus.

Edit: It should be noted that if the remote user doesn't have a headset, and the sound he hears gets back through his microphone, you get quite a nasty Larsen effect.

just turn off your speakers when you don't want to listen to the person you have called smile.png
