I'm using Fedora core 3, and can run Skype. However, I cannot connect to Skype. My computer is connected to a LAN. Does anybody know what the problem is? By the way, what the port(s) Skype use in Linux? Maybe my Linux box blocking them.

Removed 1.3 beta, changed to earlier version and it works --> problem of version 1.3 beta

I'm curious about the ports. I'm looking at buying a skype phone, <http://support.a-link.com/phonemate/IPU1.htm>, because it works with linux and, purportedly, SIP.

I'd prefer SIP, but am behind a firewall and router, so might run into port problems. Possibly I'll have to resort to IAX, as that may relieve the port problem if STUN and SIP don't.

Skype seems to run fine, but why? Which ports is it using? Heh, perhaps I should google that question smile.png

Remember, you were running the BETA versions, beta software is never perfect and is meant to be a test subject, have you tried installing the latest STABLE version?
