I have just installed the Beta version of the new Skye for Linux. At least now I can here something but I can not record a thing.

Can anyone help me to confirmif I will never be able to record anything. I ahve tried recording things using the inbuilt mic and have messed withhe sound settings but can never hear anything. The ALSA site advises the cards bug is......

Using Ubuntu on an old Samsung GT7000 series laptop.
