When displaying user infos from Search window the tool-tips appear Under the search window (fully hidden) instead of apearing above. sadsmile.png

In the main window, I can't get user information about people calling me (those not in my contact list) and I need to Hex-Dump the call-history DB to get aut their skype name so I can use the search to obtain the wanted info. Would it be possible to more information displayed about incoming calls from "unknown" people and have the "Info" button on toolbar work (for current call tab AND from call history tab)?

Is it possible to have Skype remember the active tab and the filter selected in the call-history between sessions?

Of course sound-related configurations are important, and their absence probably already mentionned often enough...

Would it be possible to run a script/app on incoming calls so that one could stop/pause any sound-application blocking /dev/dsp?

A option to "mute" the microphone during a call is also useful...

Nope, I can't replicate this here, are you sure there is not some wierd window manager option selected?

That works in windows, but I too miss it in linux. Right-click context menu would be nice...

Yeah, they have something in the windows version to tell winamp to shut up. This would be a good idea, but you have know which ap i using the card, and it may well be something like arts, and arts is NOT going to go away till what ever is using it goes down...

I have a HOLD on the main menu under CALL when in
a call. I think that does the same thing...

I think what bonbons meant was that you should be able to define a custom script invoked on certain actions (received call, received IM) and you can yourself put there any actions you want. This makes sense. I'm not sure if we will do this in the Skype main UI - it might be more a theme for the upcoming API - when Skype gets a call, it notifies other apps through API also, and you can do anything you want with it - run scripts, rm -rf, shutdown pc or whatever.

You are right, terminus. It might look logical to have it in the API, but probably having a direct launch of a script from the Skype UI for a few main functionnalities would still be a good idea.
The main events I would see are incoming Call/Message. This script/app launching could also be useful under Windows (even if probably fewer people would use it there...). The main advantage of such a script is that it makes very special notifications possible... like blinking desktop, lighting up some LEDs... This way you need only to provide some basic notification and leave the user the option to do whatever he likes :-) freedom
In addition to the API there should be the option to run a apps/script from the UI so the API can be used without having the user to launch the external app explicitely. That script/app should then be launched as soon as the user logged in.
