Ok, I lost the icon on Mandrake 10. Now I have no idea where skype was installed to. it's not on my menu anywhere. I had to use crossover office to use the windows version and that doesn't work too well. Can anyone tell me where the program file is so I can make a link on the desktop and start menu?

Probably /usr/share/skype
But you need to learn how to use man ...
man find
Will teach you how to run the find command anything.

Oh! I had no idea mandrake had the man command. The first time I installed it man didn't work. Thanks for letting me know! It works this time. Hahaha, feel so stupid now.

If you installed from RPM, the executable is /usr/bin/skype. If you "installed" by unzipping the tar.bz2, the executable is wherever you unzipped it (I keep them in my $HOME/skype for example).

yip, yip - you should be able to launch skype from typing "skype" in a console or from the "run" dialog, if you want it back into the menu, just run menudrake and add it in.
