I manage a box office with 7 work stations in it. I'd like to go all electronic and just plug headsets into the computers and take incoming calls. We're a longtime business with a regular phone line phone number that we can't change. I have a few questions, some of which I couldn't find answers to:

1. Can we keep our current phone number when registering for SkypeIN?
2. If all available computers are logged in and phone calls continue to come in, is it possible to queue them with hold music or something until we get to them?
3. Is there anything else I should know about skype for business? I need to make outgoing calls, take incoming ones and queue them, and have a voicemail available for when no one is logged in.

Thanks!

jyoshitomi,

You can not keep your phonenumber when you register for SkypeIn.
You can not que incoming calls with or without music but you can put a current call on hold to take another incoming call.

You can have several SkypeIn numbers but when they belong to one account, there is only one voicemail message available.
When already in a call or off line, you can forward up to 3 incoming calls to up to a total of 3 different Skype accounts / landlines / mobiles.

Hey jyoshitomi!

You can do all those things with Asterisk.
