My proposal is to add three buttons Record, Pausse and stop in order to archieve voice conversation. The following media formats should be used: mp3, ogg and wave. I thin it isn't difficut to developed and very nice to use.
Best greetings to SKYPE TEAMS

BUT: maybe illegal in some places.
The other party would/should be alerted that recording is happening.

So what?
It's up to the single user to follow its local law, isn't it?

Probably no difference. If you record someone on the phone without their knowledge in some states of the USA it is a criminal offense. While being recorded, the recorder must produce an audible beep on the line every few seconds.
If your cell phone allows you to record another person without that person's knowledge it may well be illegal to use that feature in some locations.
http://www.pimall.com/nais/n.recordlaw.htmlThis does not apply to answering machines because that is not a conversation.

In Sweden it is legal to record a conversation as long as one of the participating knows that it is being recorded. An if you record you´re probably aware of that...

I think that the functionality should not be determined by the most restrictive regime. If there is an obligation to tell someone in your country, do so.
However, it is useful functionality. I used to work in a bank where calls were recorded as a mattter of course, and when I had a a dispute with an airline about exactly what compensation they had previously agreed. It was very gratifying to be able to tell them the previous call had been recorded.

Hello,
i needed in the past some evidences about telephone calls. so i would say, it would be agreat thing to have the ability to record a call.
If there are problems with the law: please program only a plugin. so everybody can use it legally in his country.
is ist ok so???

Well, even if it isn't a plugin, you could just not use it, I guess
But might be the easier way to go...

I found the following solution - the following check box with the label "Allows voice recording" should be added. Info of this setting should be sent to another persons, who are talking. Depend of this settings conversations can be recorded or now. When I accede undepend of law's normalisations, my call can be archieved.
Thank's for Your suggestions
Greeting from Warsaw

What if you are using SkypeOut? Even if you play "this call is being recorded" message at the beginning of any call you make, if you are going through an automated operator system which transfers you to the recipient's extension, they may never hear it. It might only work well for receiving cals when SkypeIn is released.

I'm from Poland, Polish law is very stupid, incoherent, unlogic and make my life very complicated. I dont know, is recording legal in Poland or not..
Conversations to my girl and to may mather I record to wave file and after it using Lame convert to mp3 to win more disk space. I would like to make my life simpler - record directly to mp3. I think some law regulations are extremally stupid and I ignore it. To much law is reason of anarchy and lawlessness. Law correctnies is whorse then political correctnies
