Hi all.
My first post here. I've tried searching the forums but have not been able to find any answers. Apologies if the answer has been posted somewhere.
I have a friend on Skype who, all of a sudden, for no reason, snapped at me.
A lil cursing later she tells me I'm not as smart as I think I am and then tells me that she knows I'm talking to her from two different accounts???
After arguing about how I think she's gone insane, she tells me we both have the same ip address so she knows!
From what I know you cannot possibly know a users ip address on skype. So can I safely assume that she's just messing around with me and is talking crazy?

It is fairly easy to list the incoming network connections if your are using XP (and most other operating systems), the Skype connection will show up as one of those.
Use the Run option, enter "cmd", when the black window appears type "netstat -a" and press enter. If the conversation is coming directly from your connection your IP address will show up on the remote receivers PC
However it gets more complex - your conversation may have been "relayed" by other machines, in which case the network address of the last PC in the relay chain will show on the netstat screen. Perhaps your friend has received calls/chats from other sources, but where the final relay point is the same PC, the Skype techies would have to confirm if that is likely.
Most people's network address is dynamic and will change to another in the range of addresses allocated to your ISP so that can vary as well.
