Hello
I have a logitech quickcam and I would like to use the microphone to use skype.
I'm a total n00b at linux.
I use Ubuntu Breezy Badger and I just downloaded skype.
I've connected it, and in the device manager, I can see the camera and an audio interface. (it gets recognizes automaticly)
When i go to preferences > multimedia systems selector I can test my camera and it works (i see an image), but when i try to test my line-in it crashes.

errrr... plug it in...
There are some applications allowing videochat (like aMSN, but they don't have sound)
for reference, it's a logitech quickcam (a cheap one!)

Probably not supported, my webcam-mic doesn't work either. Buy a cheap microphone, that's unfortunately the only advice I can give.
