I was able to log in and place a call earlier, but now am getting an error when trying to log in. I am able to log in on the Skype website though.

Did you recently upgrade your skype client and/or do you have your home directory mounted over NFS? I upgraded to version 1.2.0.18 and my home directories are mounted over NFS and now I have to remove ~/.Skype before I can log in. Older versions (around 1.0.x.x) didn't have this problem.

i dont think is an NFS problem, my home directory is not over nfs, and i have the same login error.
