Has anyone had success extracting the DTMF tones from an audio stream using a tool like Virtual Audio Cable?

I know that you can use certain algorithms to determine what DTMF tones the caller pressed but I was wondering if anyone has tried this with success.

There isn't anyway to do this within the SkypeAPI...correct?
