2.5 beta and SkypeCasts is out.
Is there someting new about API?

Hi

Nothing for the moment. But of course the API will evolve in such way.

the API should be updated when 2.5 goes off beta. then you'll also get an update to the API documentation.

I see.

I'm looking forward to 2.5 goes off beta. bigsmile.png

There appears to be problems with the API with the new beta (unresponsiveness, crashing (of api client)). I had to downgrade back to the stable version. Is there a new protocol version that should be used for the beta? I tried 6, but made no difference (from 5).

I am using Skype4COM

There were some new API functions documented in the release notes...

It has been noticed that Skype 2.5 hangs with certain API calls (such as set call status seen), and if Skype hangs, then any Windows SendMessage() calls will hang, which will cause the API client to hang as well...

Hi there,

Please notice here that SET CALL had been depreciated in Skype 2.5 and not recommended to use, and will eventually removed in future api releases.

However, this might be provide ALTER CALL command to control call status:

ALTER CALL xxx {ANSWER | HOLD | RESTORE | HANGUP }

Please visit : https://developer.skype.com/Docs/ApiDoc/ALTER_CALL

The doc will be updated.

Antoine

sadly, it's not my API thats using it, and I cannot edit the code (I am using the siemens M34 DECT dongle, and when I make a call using the phone, Skype 2.5 hangs, 2.0 works fine though)...

betas are inherently unstable and should not be used in production environments. this applies to skype betas just the same.

anyway if you are able to identify a problem with skype 2.5 beta, then:

1. go to https://developer.skype.com/wiki/BetaIssues25 (login using your skype name and password to edit)

2. go to https://developer.skype.com/jira (first, create account with your skype name and password, then login); if your bug wasn't there already, add new bug; if it was and you have something significant to add, add new comment.

This may not be the right forum to post this on, but it is related to this thread.
I am about to register on jira to submit an API issue with 2.5 beta. It appears that there are too many different logins required on the skype.com site (at least 3 that I know of). Would be great if they could be consolidated.
