Hi,

I'm happy to announce you the release of the alpha version of Skype2RTC.

Skype2RTC is a gateway between VoIP skype.png and standard analog phone line (PSTN, named RTC in french).

This is the first version available and it is open source. It works only under win32 platforms.

You can find more information & downloads at : http://skype2rtc.sourceforge.net

Requierements :
- A PC running Skype client for windows
- A standard voicemodem to route calls on the PSTN.

New version with more features and improved stability will be available soon.

Best regards,

Joffrey.

Thanks for releasing this, I am interested in using it but it seems that it was created to be used only with an external modem? Can it be used with an internal voice modem? I am thinking of a laptop to be taken to a country where the telephone is expensive and using Skype to be able to make a mobile international call out. I can do that with a hardware gateway such as the AU600 at the moment but most laptop already has an in-built modem which would reduce the clutter if your software can do that. How I plan to use is this, when staying at a hotel connect the laptop to the broadband Internet which gives you Skype (but you need to be near the PC when making or receiving call), connect an AU600 and then connect that to the hotel PSTN phone and if you have a local SIM card, make a local to your hotel room, the AU600 answer and allow you to dial Skype or Skype Out, thus you can use Skype from anywhere using your mobile on a local call.

So my question is can your software bridge Skype and the built-in modem of a laptop? then allow an incoming caller to reach out via Skype?

Ermm try to make the modem work? or try to use the AU600 in that way?
