I have been swearing at Skype a lot lately, not very productive, but it beats kicking the cat!

I understand the need for predefined folders, but, is there a way to either get the displayname for the folder, or to have a definitive list of the displaynames.

My investigations keep revealing different group numbers being associated with different folders - very strange, and difficult to manage!

Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Can I assume from the lack of response (official or otherwise) that no one is using the folders within Skype ?

Maybe they should be removed from Skype - anything beyond the default folder/group is a little pointless unless created by the end user.

Hello HellsSnowman,

sorry for being so late with the answer bigsmile.png ,

as far as I know the only way to figure out a name is to use the "GET <group> TYPE" command and then depending on the result to assign a name manually to your group object or wherever you store your display names.

As results you will get something like this:
UNGROUPED_FRIENDS
CUSTOM_GROUP (which also has a displayname)
ALL_FRIENDS

So, check out the types and set names by your own.
Hope this will help you.
