Has anyone else had problems with the Bluetooth device? My reception quality went significantly downhill when using it. I could hardly hear the other person and she couldn't hear me?

It all depends on what sort of dongle you have. I myself have a 10 metre range dongle and i find it's ok to use within the house (through walls). Try a different dongle with a better range.
