I just wanted to ask if everyone else is having this problem. I'm using a 400mhz axim X5 with skype (and I have tryed both the 312 and 400mhz version) and both have terrible, i mean TERRIBLE voice quality. People can't even understand me! It's not because my pocket pc is too slow either, becuase I can make and take calls using SJPhone with excellent voice quality, well over landline quality. I would just use SJPhone and buy their minutes, but all my friends use skype and they dont have a local area code. I really wish skype would optimize thier software, not only for pocket pc but for windows too.

Hi evandlax,

Please elaborate, are you using wifi connection in your PPC? Do you have enoughfree memory (at least 10MB for programs)?

I am also experiencing poor sound quality. I am using an Audiovox 6600 with a Socket e300 wifi card. At first I couldn't get connected because of Voice Command. After I removed VC I can connect, but the sound is garbled and cannot be used for communication. Any thoughts on this? I downloaded the high speed version of 2.0.0.51. Thanks

Hi seank,

Problem seems to be that you are using external wifi card. It is known issue that Skype doesn't work always with external wifi cards.

We suggest you to make sure that your SDIO card drivers ar eup to date. You could also try to use different wifi card and see if it works..

Hannes

Thanks...I'm really not in a position to replace the wifi card just to see if it might work. I read on another board pdaphonehome that others have had success using the same card that I am trying to use. Someone suggested that I remove the wireless sync program to give Skype more room to operate. I am reluctant to do that because I use wireless sync to send mail when away from my laptop. I don;t know any other way....I know that there is another way. Anyway thank you for your response. Maybe there are drivers for my ppc that I need to look at. I have the latest version of Skype for ppc I think.
