I've just downloaded the new version of Skype and find it almost impossible to make out the difference between the Invisible Status icon and the Off-line one. In the older version of Skype the invisible Status icon was a grey tick and not a cross. It was immediately identifiable.
The new version is driving me up the wall after just one day. Why change things for the worse I wonder...

I hate the new icons. I dont understand why they changed 3.8 so much, to worse. It does not make sense!! It looks like a program for children. I switched back to 3.8 mainly because of the look and the uncomfortable structure of using v.4.1

I sent them very well thought out feedback over the years, but I feel it just lands in the bin, so I stopped bothering, if 3.8 will not work until win 7 I guess I'll switch to MSN even if Skype was for many years my most favoured programme (and with 3.8 still is).
