Sigh! This issue appears constantly in Forum. Mostly because new users don't use the Forum Search before they ask. Sigh!

Your boss should take an early day off, go home and kick his dog, wife, mum or whatever, move the lawn!
Other than having a decent connection, there are two thinghs to do to that can help a little. Get a fresh connection to 'Skype Net' - go Offline for a minute.
Second there is no other way to know if someone is Online but to try contact them. Sending a IM/chat with anything like a '.' might be less disturbing than a call.
