I own a Nokia N79 and using it on 3 in the UK.
I tried to install Skype Lite but when it won't let me claiming my phone doesn't support Skype.
I know that the N79 will run Skype happily with no issues, and further to that Nokia N95 has exactly the same OS/features and is supported, so there is absolutely no reason why Skype can't be installed on N79.
How can i download the installer without using the 3 network? (not through sms)
Anyone has achieved that? Installing Skype on N79 on 3?

I managed to get it installed through wifi 
Just in case anyone else has the issue, connect using wifi, goto to www.skype.com/m fill in the details, set it up as N78 will install fine and works like a charm ;-)

I am also using nokia N79 and I don't know how to download and install skype. When I use my mobile, it said my mobile is not suitable and I can't download the version for N78. Please help me.

So I am clear are you now trying to install the 3 Skype version or the Skype Lite version? I have heard of many people unable to get the Skype Lite version to work on the 3 network due to the way they set up their internet. If you are on the 3 network you should download the 3 client. if you post about that here http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showforum=149 someone should be able to help you

where exactly are you getting stuck?
Navigate from your phone to http://www.skype.com/m
Enter your phone number - select your phone as an N78 and hopefully it should download.
how can i download skype for N78?
