I have not been able to get past Skype 4.0.0.226 with the 50U adapter. Skype will not save the audio settings in v4.1, specifically the speaker setting. Selecting voipPlayback (D-link) is not saved when the app restarts. Reverts to Speakers (SB X-Fi).
Will be moving t Win7 soon and would like to resolve this beforehand

I moved to Win7 now and stayed with 4.0. But after installing the D-link driver, 4.0 is now acting like 4.1 and not saving the speaker setting in audio. Reverts to SB x-fi. Is 3.8 saving settings?

Yes, your audio settings are saved in version 3.8. Also, you have speed dial in the GUI. You don't get that in version 4.1.
