I am using Skype2.1.0.47(Beta) on Ubuntu9.10. Voice call are OK, but when I activate my webcam Skype crash with "Segmentation error".
The same version of skype work correctly on Ubuntu9.04.

I Have crash in 3 cases:

1. Receaving vedeo is in normal size (not set in double size), skype crash when I start my video:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

2. When i am in video call, when i reduce recieaving video from double to normal, skype crash with error :
Aborted (core dumped)

3. When i am in video call, if my corespondant stop her video, skype crash with error :

It seems that I have the same problem - I am also running Skype2.1.0.47 Beta on Ubuntu \9.10 and having crashes after launching video calls.
Note please that I had a problem with the Logitech webcamera itself at first. It did not work properly either on Skype or in Cheese (appeared as green digital lines or static). I reinstalled the drivers () and then it worked in Cheese yet still not in Skype.
After running the "export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so" command, however, the camera appears properly while TESTing in the Options menu. But once a call is started, Skype crushes.

Do you have any recommendations/suggestions to fix the issue? Should I look for elder versions of Skype?
