Hi,ive been using skype for a while now but for some reason every half hour the sound breaks up, it takes a few min to clear, but if my friend unplugs her head set it fixes the problem, for another 30 min, also when im having trouble with the sound,she can hear me fine, any help would be great, thank you

I suspect the issue is between your headset and your PC more than with skype. I use simple headsets/microphones which connect to the PC with a normal audio jack, rather than fancy ones (USB, bluetooth, etc.) which add an overlay of complexity because the PC needs to do much more work to convert the signal. This is even more true if the PC is a bit old or using heavy operating systems like Vista.

To clarify if this is your problem, check the following:
- is the headset attached to the USB port, or bluetooth (radio) or is it a simple jack (like those for your ipod?)
- if you disconnect the headset and use the PC speakers instead, is it working fine?
- do you have a simple headset to test with? (only audio jacks, no USB/bluetooth)
