Just bought this headset to use it together with Ipaq (running WM5) and Skype (2.x).

It's no problem to pair the devices but the sound and speach are REALLY choppy and crappy in Skype. Turned off Encryption for the headset device and also turned off Echo cancellation in Skype, but the same result. Tried to play an MP3 and it seems to play OK, though the sound isn't very good.

The headset works fine on both my PC and laptop. Any ideas what I could try next? Re-install the WM5?

I have done some more testing. It works fine recording/listening to a voice note with both WiFi enabled and disabled. It also works fine when Skype is running in the background. If I disconnect the headset and just use the mic/speaker it sounds perfect too.

So it all comes down to Skype in combination with the Bluetooth headset. I would be very grateful if anyone using an Ipaq and BT headset would come forward. smile.png

Edit: The one I call seems to hear me fine but with a lag. The sound on my side is terrible.

Hi, I have same problems, and done tests on my own with equal results.

I have IPAQ 2750, WM5, BT SE HBH 610 V. 2.0 , USB dongle from www.xovoxcommunications.com, that works fine both on my laptop and IPAQ, with speech recognition and the conbination of BT headset/IPAQ works fine in every possible configuration, including speech recognition (DRAGON 8.0) but SKYPE. I must add that BT headset/laptop conbination works well.

SKYPE works fine on IPAQ if I only use the microphone and speakerphone integrated to it.

It appears the problem is on SKYPE for pocketpc, and it will be helpful for all of us on the same situation hear from SKYPE STAFF if this is a bug already detected and when will be fixed?

Very interesting to hear that someone else have the same problem. Now we just have to find a solution... smile.png

I wonder if the CPU can't handle both Skype and BT? It's a powerful CPU so it shouldn't be any problem. Maybe it's in combination with WM5 as this OS is not native for the 2750 (2003SE is). I'm thinking about downgrading but can't remember if 2003SE supports the BT headset profile?

Would indeed be helpful to hear some Skype Staff comments in this matter!

FRED:

One of the best new modifications on WM5 is on BT arena, (v. 1.7.1) and it can handle at the same time WI-FI and BT signal, on the other hand IPAQ has the largest cpu on the market at the present time (624 mhz) and I agree with you on this point.

My case, as yours, WM5 is not native, but as long is succefully instaled it must not represent a problem. My BT headset (SE HBH 610) has Version 2.0 and has digitally noise cancelation as a requirement for speech recognition to be used on the IPAQ, and I can not think that SKYPE has more requirements than that. I need to outline that the same BT/laptop and dongle conbination (v. 2.0) works well with SKYPE, so the problem is a bug on sofware for pocketpc.

I live and work in America (MEXICO) where IPAQ is a popular model, rather than pocketpc phone edition, as is in Europe, and I am sure that I am not the only one with this problem. According nowdays growth intentions with SKYPE/EBAY, I think is advisable to fix this bug, don't you agree SKYPE STAFF?

New finding... I installed the low CPU version to test if it could have to do with CPU overload but I got the exact same result.
