Full Version: Whole system crashes with latest Skype version

As I update from an old version of Skype(can't remember the version number)to v4.1.0.179 the whole system crashes and restart with BSOD logs as follow:

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c000008e, parameter2 bf0f5078, parameter3 aef68b40, parameter4 00000000.

System Specs:

Intel Core2Duo E4600
2GB RAM with shared Onboard Video RAM (256Mb)
Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3
Logitech Quickcam Easy/Cool (Driver version 12.0.1278.0)from Logitech website
Skype v4.1.0.179
Microsoft DirectX v9.00c August 2009 release
GLADIATOR

First suspect sound card drivers, update them first.

Next disconnect any USB devices like webs or headphones.
Does that sort it, UPgrade amt video/USB drivers
